Bamboo fibres are all cellulose fibre extracted or fabricated from natural bamboo, but they vary widely. Textiles labelled as being made from bamboo are usually not made by mechanical crushing and retting. They are generally synthetic rayon made from cellulose extracted from bamboo. Bamboo is used whole and in strips; these strips may be considered stiff fibers.
Viscose Staple Fiber (VSF), a natural, bio-degradable fiber with characteristics somewhat similar to cotton is obtained from wood pulp or cotton pulp. As an extremely versatile and easily blendable fiber, VSF is widely used in apparels, home textiles, dress material, knitted wear and non-woven applications.

1. Bamboo fiber yarn is used for clothing fabrics, mattresses, bed sheets, curtains, scarves, etc. If blended with vinylon, light and thin clothing fabrics can be produced.
